Hetal at a tender age has realized that poverty can come in the way of anyone's dream. Instead of going to school, Hetal makes the rounds of four to five houses each day and takes care of her father, till her mother and elder sister return. Hetal's father has been bedridden for two years now, due to an accident. Since then, life has taken a bitter turn for Hetal. The only respite in Hetal's life comes from her dream of becoming an airhostess when she grows up. Smile Foundation as an NGO in India has so far directly put more than 200,000 children like Hetal into the path of empowerment through education through its Mission Education programme. Like Hetal, there are 17 million children in India working as child labour. At least 62% of the total out-of-school children in India are girls. Last year, 51% of the total beneficiaries of Mission Education programme were girls. You can help a child escape from the bonds of poverty through our donation online. It lets you gift life-changing benefits to that child for a low monthly and yearly contribution. Your donation online will ensure that the child receives education, healthcare as well as nutritional support through every phase of his/her young life. Help a child discover the joy of learning and join us in our efforts to put Every Child in School!

BECOME A VOLUNTEER

AEMWIA believes that unless members of the civil society are involved proactively in the process of development, sustainable change will not happen. We encourage and invite volunteers to be an active part of our organization and share the same vision and purpose as us – to work for the welfare of children and their families. Volunteers are the backbone of every organization – they not only carry the organization’s ideals within them, but also spread the message far and beyond, sensitizing the society towards the cause. And this individual action is certainly the need of the hour for India – the land of great contrasts! While the country has 53 billionaires, it also has 17 million child labourers. While it has a galloping GDP growth, it also has 2 million children dying before their first birthday due to the lack of immunizations and medical facilities. So if we have ever wished to be able to do something for the greater good, the time could not be more right. We don’t have to make radical changes for our efforts to count, because the small changes make a big difference. Contribute today!
